Collage - The Journey of Experimenting in Mixed Media!

Mixed Media is a fun and exciting way of exploring creativity! 

Join us for this fun workshop with artist Shannon Birchum, where students will learn a series of techniques to design and create a personalized work of art called a "Collage." Through a step-by-step process, the following techniques will be taught: pattern making, printmaking, mark making, mixing paint, and other materials.

This workshop will offer:

• step-by-step instruction
• an understanding of material and techniques
• new ideas and inspiration for collage art

This workshop is a 2 part series. Part 1 begins Friday, August 26th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm where we'll make the "papers" for the multiple layers of collage. In this session, students will be introduced to unique techniques for making their art. 

In Part 2, the following day, Saturday, August 27th from 10:00am to 3:00pm students will apply what they learned from part 1 to create their collages!

There will be a break for lunch on Saturday. You may bring your lunch, or order from one of the restaurants downtown.
