Introduction to Drawing (Workshop A)

Drawing fundamentals for beginners and experienced artists alike with the goal to not only build skill, but also explore and develop your unique artistic voice.  This will be personal and fun!  Bring something you would like to learn to draw, either a small object or a photo.  Although the workshop is a stand-alone and thorough overview with lots of hands-on practice, Drawing Classes #1 and #2, the following Monday nights, will build on and solidify what you start on Saturday.

Supplies to bring:

• a sketchbook bigger than 9x12 and layout pencils (Prismacolor Ebony is a good brand)
• a sharpener for them
• a Pink Pearl eraser.

In addition, but not necessary, you can bring:

• other kinds of erasers and drawing pencils
• charcoal
• Conte crayons (sanguine, sepia, white and/or black), etc. small, medium and large stumps (also call tortillions) for blending and softening lines.

We will have a 1-hour break for lunch. Bring a sack lunch, or purchase lunch from one of the restaurants downtown.
